The sector is ‘likely to see moderate growth in meat production in 2019, due to a rapid expansion in exports and continuous state support’. Russia has invested in automating entire value chains, which has had a direct impact on production. However, the domestic market is reaching saturation and producers must now increasingly focus on developing export networks to ensure that their growth is sustainable.
