H.E. Suhail Al Mazrouei was appointed as the Minister of Energy on March 2013 where his mandate focusses on providing support to sustainable development, address oil, minerals, and water and electricity issues for the benefit of the UAE.
H.E. Al Mazrouei is also a Board Member of IPIC ; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA); Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mubadala Petroleum Co; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Liquefied Gas Co; Member of the Supreme Petroleum Council and the executive Committee of SPC; Member of the Board of Directors of the Petroleum Development Co; Member of the Board of Directors of the Dolphin Energy Co.
His Excellency also Chair some of the international companies outside of the UAE such as : Borealis, NOVA Chemicals and CEPSA.
H.E. Al Mazrouei has considerable experience in corporate administration in different sectors, including ship building, defence systems, oil and gas services sector and real estate development.
H.E. Suhail Al Mazrouei holds a B.A. in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa in the US in 1996.
Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak has been appointed Managing Director and
Group Chief Executive Ofcer of Mubadala Investment Company, the entity
formed from the merger of Mubadala Development Company, where he
currently serves as Group CEO and Managing Director, and the International
Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC).
He is also Chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Executive Afairs Authority (EAA), which
provides strategic policy advice to the Chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Executive
Council, of which he is also a member. In addition, he is a member of the UAE
Supreme Petroleum Council. Khaldoon’s other board positions include:
Chairman of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) and Emirates Global
Aluminium (EGA); Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council; and
board member of First Gulf Bank.

Government responsibilities include, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Presidential Special Envoy to China; Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, which provides strategic policy advice to the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and membership of the UAE Supreme Petroleum Council.
Khaldoon serves on the Boards of a number of significant businesses, including Chairmanships of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Emirates Global Aluminium and City Football Group. He is also a non-Executive Board member of First Abu Dhabi Bank.
Khaldoon Co-Chairs the Abu Dhabi-Singapore Joint Forum and is a member of the New York University Board of Trustees.
Mr. Sergio Emidio Bini, Regional Minister for Industry and Tourism, Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) Region
Born in Latisana on December 8, 1968.

At the age of 20 he founded his first entrepreneurial activity and subsequently, together with a partner, he started what is now called Euro & Promos, a company with over six thousand employees throughout Italy and one of the top five national groups in the facility sector.
In 2016 he founded Progetto FVG a political movement linked to the business world to give voice to the many active entrepreneurs in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
The movement is mainly composed of entrepreneurs with a great desire for institutional representation and aims to offer a programmatic contribution to our region by providing the skills developed during his career.
The movement gathered, at the last April regional elections, almost the 8% of the consensus, attracting in this way great interest from the media, especially for the programmatic proposals related to the themes of the economy and entrepreneurial development.
Thanks to these results, the President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, entrusts to him the leadership of the important regional ministry for Industry and Tourism, with direct competence on the entire regional economic and productive sector.
The main objective for the coming years is to reduce the level bureaucracy and support the economic and tourist sector by setting up new start-up, new jobs and development through an overall review of current instruments to encourage the attraction of investments.
Dr. Fadel Digham is the Executive Director of the R&D Department at the National Telecom Regulator Authority of Egypt. Dr. Digham enjoys a diverse experience encompassing the dimensions of policy, industry, and academia.
Dr. Digham is currently the Chairman of the “Smart Cities and Society” group under the Development sector at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Prior to that, he was the Chairman of the joint group between Radio and Development sectors of the ITU on “Spectrum Management for Developing Countries”. He also served in the past as a board member of the Industry Advisory Board for the IEEE Wireless Communications Engineering Technology (WCET) certificate program.
Dr. Digham is a co-founder of the IoT Egypt forum and a member in the national committee in charge of planning smart cities in Egypt.
Dr. Digham is a co-founder of the international competition of Minesweeper Robots and has been actively promoting and mentoring the competition for underwater ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicles) in the Arab Region.
Dr. Digham is an adjunct Professor at Nile University. He has been developing and teaching a specialized course on “Telecom Policy and Technology Trends” at Cairo University.
In the past, Dr. Digham worked for Alcatel Telecom (Egypt branch), Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs (Cambridge, USA), and the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities, USA).
Dr. Digham got his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, USA, and his B.Sc. from Cairo University, Egypt.
DONG Xiang，VP for R&D，Beijing Naton Technology Group Ltd. Co.Technology,China
Mr. Dong Xiang is the VP for R&D of Beijing Naton Technology Group Co. Ltd and also the Executive Vice Director of Beijing Naton Institute of Medical Technology (NIMT), under Naton Group.
In 2009, Mr. Dong joined Naton Group as a biomechanical engineer, he helped to establish the biomechanical and biomaterial research sections in the following years, which has greatly helped the developments of many joint prosthesis and spinal or trauma fixation systems. In 2014, Mr. Dong was promoted to Executive Vice Director of NIMT and Vice President for R&D of Naton Group in 2019. Since he joined Naton Group, he has participated in many 3D printing R&D projects. He has twice presided over the establishments of the mechanical 3D printing lab and the medical 3D printing lab for design prototyping and customized implantable medical device manufacturing.
3D printing is one of the key focuses of Naton Group who believes the application of 3D printing technologies would reshape the future of medical device industry and therefore commits itself to developing new 3D printing technologies to open new possibilities to help the surgeons give better treatment to patients based on individual cases.
Mr. Dong got his Master Degree on Biomedical Engineering in 2002 from Sichuan University China.
Mansoor Janahi is the Chief Executive Officer of Turbine Services & Solutions (TS&S), a leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) solutions provider for gas turbines and aircraft engines, wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company. He is responsible for providing leadership in the company’s overall administration, strategic direction and business development.
Prior to joining TS&S, Janahi served as Vice President at Mubadala’s Aerospace, Renewables & ICT (AR&I) platform. Janahi has a comprehensive background leading in business development and asset management activities throughout his extensive career. He played a pivotal role in establishing agreements with Airbus and Boeing at the 2013 Dubai Airshow and 2016 Farnborough Airshow. He was also a critical decision maker at the centre of the formation of the ground-breaking joint venture with Solvay S.A. in 2017. As an Asset Manager for Strata Manufacturing PJSC from 2013 to 2014 and Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies from 2011 to 2012, Janahi’s vast experience in the Aerospace sector was invaluable to achieving bold ambitions, and to strengthening international partnerships. Over this period, he also managed vital strategic relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as Boeing and Airbus.
Janahi holds two degrees from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and a B.S. Business Administration.
Dr Eun-Ju Kim, a national of the Republic of Korea, was appointed as Chief of the ITU’s Innovation and Partnership Department in February 2014. Before moving to ITU Headquarters at Geneva, she served as Regional Director of the ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific at Bangkok.
Before joining ITU in 2000, Dr Kim held various positions in the public and private sectors and Academia, including Director for Regulatory Affairs at the ICO Global Communications; Lecturer in Telecommunication Policies and Regulations at the London City University (United Kingdom), and Senior Adviser to the Minister of Communications (Republic of Korea).
She holds a Masters’ Degree from the Seoul National University (Republic of Korea) and another Masters’ Degree and a PhD from the London City University (United Kingdom). She has also undertaken an Executive Education programme at the Harvard Kennedy School (United States of America).
Dr Kim has published numerous books and articles relating to international organizations and evolving digital technologies with implicated policies and strategies. She has also implemented various initiatives, platforms and projects contributing to inclusive and sustainable development with focus on innovation and partnership: e.g., connecting the unconnected in Asia and the Pacific especially for the LDCs and SDIS, human and institutional capacity development, empowerment of women and persons with disabilities, smart schools and communities, emergency communications, and digital transformation through multi-stakeholders’ partnership in the converged eco-system. She has also organized, initiated and chaired numerous national, regional and global platforms and events.
Mr. Hiroshi Kuniyoshi is the Deputy to the Director General and a Managing Director of UNIDO since April 2017.
In April 1984, he joined the Government of Japan’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (now known as METI), where he planned and implemented a variety of industrial and technology policies in various sections, including the Planning Office of the Minister’s Secretariat, the Natural Resources and Energy Agency, the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency and the Kansai Bureau.
He served as an advisor to the Director General of UNIDO from 2000 to 2004, and made a considerable contribution to UNIDO’s strategic pursuits through the coordination of the Board of Directors’ Retreats, Industrial Development Forums among other activities.
In August 2006, Mr. Kuniyoshi was appointed Professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he conducted research and education in policy studies related to industry, technology and innovation.
In September 2012, he was appointed Executive Director of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), one of Japan’s largest public organizations in research and development. At NEDO, he was in charge of global collaborative projects for the development of low-carbon technologies such as renewable energy, battery storage and smart grids. He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Global Smart Grid Federation, a world-wide network of national associations for smart grids.
In January 2016, he was appointed Head of the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office, Tokyo, (UNIDO ITPO Tokyo), where he worked closely with Japanese industries in areas related to technology transfer and investments to developing countries.
Mr. Hiroshi Kuniyoshi holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in Energy Science from the Kyoto University.
Ouyang Jian is the Managing Director & President of Hunan Golden Furnace Science and Technology Co., Ltd., China.
He is a professor-level senior engineer and state registered power engineer. As the project leader and chief designer, he successfully accomplished R&D projects of China Minmetals Group such as development of 12-stockpile atmosphere controllable batch kiln for soft ferrite, domestic development of ITO target material furnace, development of 30-meter, 36-meter series single-layer and 30-meter, 45-meter series double layer roller hearth kiln for sintering cathode material etc.
A number of products developed have been acknowledged as world’s advanced level by the China Iron and Steel Association and provincial department of science & technology and realized a total sale of over 500 sets of kilns, valuing 700 million RMB. So far, the company has owned over 30 patents and pending patents at home and abroad, and has won many awards such as science & technology progress award, metallurgical science and technology award of China Minmetals, science and technology progress award of Hunan Province etc.
He graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Carl Benedikt Frey is Oxford Martin Citi Fellow at Oxford University where he directs the programme on Technology and Employment at the Oxford Martin School – regarded the world’s leading programme on the future of work.
He is one of the most widely cited scholars in the field of workforce automation and industrial renewal, researching the transition of industrial nations to digital economies, and associated challenges for corporations and governments. Over the course of his career, he has served as an advisor and consultant to international organisations, think tanks, government and business, including the OECD, the European Commission, the United Nations, and several Fortune 500 companies.
In partnership with Citigroup, he also works to help global leaders navigate the rapidly changing world economy. His work has been widely covered by the BBC, CNN, The Economist, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, New York Times, Washington Post, Frankfurter Allgemeine, Scientific American, TIME Magazine, Forbes, and many others.
In 2016 he was named the 2nd most influential young opinion leader by the Swedish business magazine Veckans Affärer. Dr Frey is also Economics Associate of Nuffield College, and Senior Fellow of the Programme on Employment, Equity and Growth at the Institute for New Economic Thinking, both University of Oxford. He remains a Senior Fellow of the Department of Economic History at Lund University, and a board member of Futurion AB.
William Reichert is a dual-qualified international corporate/M&A attorney based in Dubai, UAE with over two decades of experience leading sophisticated transactions in a variety of sectors (including, in particular, technology, energy and natural resources, and real estate) in both developed and developing markets. He has extensive experience working on joint ventures, private equity and venture capital investments and exits, corporate finance, restructuring and compliance matters across a broad spectrum of industries, jurisdictions, languages and cultures.
Prior to moving to Dubai, Mr. Reichert spent ten years in Russia, where he was the founding partner of the Moscow office of a major global law firm. While in Russia, Mr. Reichert worked on some of the largest and most complex transactions in the Russian market, representing both foreign and domestic investors, primarily for acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, private equity investments and other corporate matters in the oil and gas and natural resources and technology sectors. In addition to representing clients in the GCC and greater MENA region, he continues to advise on various types of transactions in Russia and the CIS.

Currently, he is Vice President of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., General Manager of Port Machinery Group and President of Land Heavy Industry Design & Research Institute.
Shan JianGuo has been engaged in technical work for more than 20 years. The double 40-feet quayside crane designed by him, which can theoretically increase the loading and unloading rate by 50%, has won the silver award of Industrial Expo, the first prize of National Science and Technology advance award, and the excellence award of Chinese Patent. The differential trolley quayside crane won the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology advance award. The 3E quayside crane won the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology advance award. Automatic container terminal loading and unloading system won the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology. And he has also won many provincial and ministerial-level honors.
Shan JianGuo, graduated from TongJi University, majoring in engineering machinery and started his working life as a senior enginre.
Mr. Sicars holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hanover, Germany, specialised in Energy- and Process Engineering.
For a number of years, he worked for, and subsequently managed, the Research Centre for Refrigeration and Heat Pumps (FKW) in Germany. Later, he worked as a consultant on environmental issues undertaking research projects for clients such as international industries, NGOs and governments. He has implemented Montreal Protocol projects in India and China, and for eight years, he was part of delegations to the Executive Committee of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer, and to the Meeting of the Parties of the Montreal Protocol. He has been a member of the Refrigeration Technical Option Committee and of the TEAP task forces, and has also been co-ordinating lead author for IPCC, and has received the US-EPA Ozone Award.
Subsequently, he worked as a Senior Programme Officer with the Multilateral Fund. In June 2014, he was appointed Director of the Montreal Protocol Branch, and in February 2015, Director of the newly created Department of Environment of UNIDO.
Shyam is the Chief Statistician of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, appointed in 2008.
Before joining UNIDO in 2005, Shyam Upadhyaya worked in many developing countries as an international expert on statistics under the technical assistance programme of UN agencies, the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and other international organizations. He has been involved in preparation of several UN recommendations on industrial statistics, sampling design and short-term economic indicators. In recent years he contributed to development of global indicator framework for SDG. He has an extensive experience in developing national industrial statistical system in CIS countries.
Shyam Upadhyaya holds Ph. D. in Economic Statistics from the Moscow Institute of Economics and Statistics (MESI). He is an elected member of the International Statistical Institute. He was listed as one of the leading statisticians of the world in the publication of the Moscow National University, Higher School of Economics dedicated to International Year of Statistics 2013.
Mr. Wang Hongbo is the co-founder and COO of HIT Robot Group (HRG). He contributed to the formation of HRG biosphere based on a unique innovation-entrepreneurship-industry model. By leading the growth of the company’s capability of research and development, business operation, talent acquisition, market research and brand management, Mr. Wang has help HRG successfully incubate more than 80 startup companies.
His selected accomplishment includes leading the design, construction and key technology breakthroughs of multiple major projects such as smart factory for donkey-hide gelatin production, smart factory for lithium battery production, automatic line for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) production. He also led the construction of robotic precision reducer, robot body and robotic arms production lines.
Mr. Wang graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) with a doctor’s degree in engineering. He owns over 20 invention patents and more than 10 utility patents.
WANG Xuesong is Vice President of Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co., Ltd., China.
From 1993, he worked in China National Machine Tool Corporation, responsible for technical exchanges and trade cooperation with Russia in the field of machine tools. He has successfully organized numbers of Chinese machine tool companies to cooperate with Russian partners in depth.
He graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University.
Daniel is Executive Director, Broad Group & President, BROAD Core Building, China.
He is known as a Modular Architect and Community Storyteller with his productions of a series of viral internet videos of Broad Sustainable Buildings, Daniel Zhang introduced to the world Broad Chairman Zhang, his father’s record-setting invention: the world’s fastest, largest, and tallest Broad Stainless Steel Core modular housing constructions to date. With sustainability as the key message, together they believe these are the only solutions to the challenges of human urbanization on every continent. In 2016, he and his partner begun an experimental intentional community for 100 which continued to grow. It began with an eight-story vertical community named P8 in Changsha, a second-tier Chinese city of 7 million residents.
Daniel trained as an architect at Carnegie Mellon University, continuing his doctorates in India and Germany. Since 2016.
