Hannover, Germany – 04 March 2020: The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) is in full alignment with the recent public announcement made by Deutsche Messe to postpone Hannover Messe 2020 due to the growing concern of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak globally.
The specific nature of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit entails convening some of the greatest thought leaders and business pioneers from all over the world. With the growing global concern of the COVID-19 outbreak, it is only appropriate that such a gathering of similar scale and magnitude would need to be reassessed to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
On behalf of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit, we offer our deepest sympathy to all those affected and we are grateful to our partner, Deutsche Messe, for taking decisive and preventative measures. We will be consulting our stakeholders on possible options going forward, and we will communicate our decision on #GMIS2020 in due course.
As a joint initiative of the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Energy and Industry and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), we would like to reassure our stakeholders that we will continue to drive the dialogue on the future of manufacturing to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development for the benefit of all.
