The Mohammed Bin Rashid Initiative for Global Prosperity
The Mohammed bin Rashid Initiative for Global Prosperity was first announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, at the Global Manufacturing & Industrialisation Summit in March 2017.
The initiative unites the world’s leading manufacturers, start-ups and entrepreneurs, governments, UN agencies and philanthropists, academia and researchers, to form a community dedicated to spreading global prosperity through the art of ‘making’, seeking to recognize noble and novel achievements that have positively contributed to the well-being of our world while fostering the values of resilience, community, harmony and dignity.
The initiative combines two programs:
The Global Maker Challenge: An online open-innovation platform that offers an opportunity for ‘makers’ and innovators to connect, collaborate and co-create, wherever they are in the world, to solve real-world challenges. We would like to invite your organization to consider adopting one of the four global challenges related to Sustainable Cities, Sustainable Energy, Digital Divide and Digital Literacy, and Rural Transformation and Zero Hunger.
The Global Prosperity Award: An annual award that honors the organization which adopts a Global Maker Challenge that has the potential of making the greatest positive impact on society, and which has the greatest alignment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every organization who adopts a Global Maker Challenger will be shortlisted for the Global Prosperity Award.
